WHAT WILL BE EXPECTED OF YOU DURING YOUR WORK-BASED LEARNING?
- You are first and foremost an employee and will be expected by your host employer and by the school/training center, to conform to your employer's requirements
- At the same time you are still a student and, your learning will need to meet course requirements
- When starting your work-based learning placement, the host company should offer you an induction (including Health and Safety training) and introduce you to the team you will be working with
- You should have secured a work-based tutor prior to undertaking the programme whose role it is to provide guidance and support for you during your work-based learning
- You must make clear to the work-based tutor any tasks required by the school, particularly when they may conflict with what is required by the employer
- You will be provided by your school/training centre with a student logbook to fill weekly with a clear description of the task assigned by the host company
- Act responsibly and adopt a professional behaviour at all times!
