About the role of company tutor during WBL

The work placement tutor instructs the trainees prior to and during their assigned tasks and informs them about the priorities and the targets to be met. He/she motivates, stimulates and gives feedback to trainees about their work and their performance, and suggests solutions and points to be improved. He/she ensures the progressing of the activities and adapts the coaching accordingly.

In particular, the company tutor is responsible for:
  • promoting the trainee’s personal development
  • carrying out intermediary analysis/assessment of individual learning needs
  • optimising the trainee’s performance
  • carrying out a self-improvement reflection and process during and after the trainee’s work placement
